Happy Sunday :-) I thought it’d be nice to share a dedicated post for this frame because all of my other picture frame posts are getting pretty long. Love this note from a friend and I’ve had it in my to-frame pile since 2019, so I’m happy it’s finally out and about. Here are all of the supplies I used, plus a few options if you’d rather have the work done for you!
The rest of my frames
FOR A DIY
SUPPLIES
This is the mat board shop I’ve been using for the last 3 years—I used a blank mat board without an opening for this frame
I use foam board to mount my photos/notes/other ephemera so it’s elevated off the mat with a shadow behind it. This is what professional frame shops do, and it’s worth the extra few minutes and dollars IMO
I use archival tape or any other acid-free tape whenever I’m framing anything
BURL WOOD FRAMES
The exact frame I used was a random W from Marshall’s and appears to be sold out, but I’d highly recommend this other one we’ve got in the hallway, and here are a few smaller options! Whenever you’re ordering a blank mat board to use with a frame, make sure you double check the inside frame measurements—sometimes they’re a touch smaller than the frame itself
IF YOU DON’T WANT TO DIY
I’d order this fully customizable frame: you can mail in your art, photos, notes, or tickets, choose the mat color, and they’ll make it happen for you for as little as $70, depending on the size

Here are a few of my favorite pieces made using Framebridge if you’re looking for more inspo:
The (scanned) receipt for my marriage license in this burgundy frame
Circle print from a flea market in Japan in this light wood frame (I know the wood grain/color looks different, but according to my order history, this is the correct frame!)
Tree sketch from a flea market in Japan in this dark wood frame
Sketch of a woman from a flea market in Japan in this rounded burl wood frame
